Xplosion

Hey all, for those of you that missed it Xplosion happened on Saturday night. It was an awesome show with a moderate crowd. I am disappointed how Leederville HQ like to treat people like children but that aside it was a great night. Killer performances with heaps of energy from some of the best Perth Hip Hop artists.

 

For those of you that missed out there are still plenty of Perth Underground Tees available so hit me up and I can get them out to you. We will be doing Xplosion again sometime so stay tuned so you don't miss out.

 

 

Thanks to everybody that helped with Xplosion, Tektonik did a great job at putting it all together and we can promise that the next one will be even better.

Scorcher Fest - 2010 - Boxing Day

Hey all, Scorcher Fest is happening at The Rosemount Hotel in North Perth on Boxing Day. It is an all day event featuring many Perth Hip Hop artists. Complete, DT, JaeLan, Tektonik and The Stoops are all worth getting down there to see with a few ice cold ones. I'm not sure on all of the details but more information can be found at the website.

Hey all, sorry about the lack of updates but been a bit busy. Producer Appreciation Month has officially finished but I didn't get the last interview up in time. Anyhow last but not least we have an interview with Big Tybes Beats.

When did you start and what got you into making beats?

I got into beat production when i found out it was to source beats, in 2004 i started taking it seriously.

What are your musical influences and how do they effect your style?

I used to be a metal head so my influences are wide and varied, this effects my style, i always try to bring that rock performance to our show.

If you could choose 10 rappers to produce for who would they be?

FUCK, in no particular order Dialetrix, Trem, Purpose, Eso, Seth Sentry, The Tounge, Maundz, Mr Trials, Professor Green (5 years ago) & Suffa.

What projects have you worked on so far?

My crew BYP have had two releases since 2008 both with me soley on production

What projects are you working on in future?

We are in the final stages of mixing our next release 'Never got paid', we have developed our sound with our recent addition of the legendary HYKUS. It will be dropping late 10 or early 11, we even have a surpise feature 'hush hush'.

Who do you think is holding it down for Perth right now?

There is a lot of buzz in the scene around heaps of up and comers which is always a good
sign we are developing and continuing to grow. But the usual dudes are still holding shit down this
side of the map... you know who they are.

What gear are you using to make beats?

I use Cubase and Fl Studio both for different reasons, i argue with many producers about this feature and
that feature but i feel its up to you how you wanna produce shit. Plus i have the luxury of having 2 studio
mixing lords in my crew to fix any imperfections the programs i use may show.

What are the top 5 beats ever made to you?

Nutcase -Jase
The Sentinal -Suffa

Hey all, for all of you that are coming to Xplosion tomorrow I will have some T-Shirts for sale. There are 3 different T-Shirts available in Medium, Large and Extra Large. T-Shirts are $20 each or 3 for $50 (good for if 3 of you wanna go in together to get a discount). I will be selling them at the show or you can contact me on here and I can arrange postage.

 

These T-Shirts are only limited in numbers, 3 Medium, 4 Large and 3 Extra Large of each type (3 types).

 

 

Sorry about the dodgy photography but at least you can get the idea of what is for sale :). These cost a fair bit to make so there isn't much profit involved but anything extra will be put into the website.
