REVIEW: Complete - Panic Disorder

Panic Disorder is the recently released mixtape by Perth Hip Hop artist Complete. It is a free release that plays more like an album than a mixtape. The mixtape starts off with Complete having a panic attack, the only negative I can see here is that there is not an option to skip into the track which is a bit of a nuisance if you have heard it before. Some stand out tracks off the mixtape include Reason To Live, Watch You Cry, Dirty Thoughts (Feat. Layla), Freedom and Blood Stained Nikess (Feat. Smiley, Sever and Bitter Belief). I had to laugh when I heard the track Your Nanna, my girlfriend didn't really appreciate it but it was original and I couldn't believe that Complete actually pulled it off. Some of the most memorable lines from the tape include "with you its like cheating in sport, easy to score," from Happy Now and "but f it, I don't need a root, i need a noose and a crate" from Watch You Cry.

Beat selection on this mixtape is superb. Dark well produced tracks fill the majority of the tape which is pretty much what I like to hear. Because this is a mixtape and not an album I will not be judging it on recording quality. The vocals don't quite sound as polished as they could and the hooks leave some room for improvement. Overall the mixes are quite good, especially for a mixtape. The mixtape plays easily from start to finish and there are a few places where you want to replay what was said. I've listened to the tape a few times now and it will stay in my rotation. Overall an excellent effort from Complete and anybody who worked on this.

7/10
